The Flat Earth Society Triumphant

Yes, the Flat Earth Society still exists - some people simply will never believe the truth.  Might as well try to legislate that Pi is equal to 3 (or whatever.) The sad part is that the purveyors of ignorance are winning.  The only news is that the latest public incarnation seems to have taken up residence in the Wyoming statehouse.

The fact that we need to teach our children about Global Warming and why it is happening has been challenged by the Wyoming legislature in their latest attempt to prevent their children from having to learn any (politically) inconvenient truths.  The obvious 2-year old child logic  (cover your eyes so you can’t see it and it doesn’t exist) of this should have taken the entire proposition off the table, but these (Republican, of course) twits are serious enough to pass the bill.

Folks, reality happens.  You can’t wish it away, and you can’t hide from it.  Wyoming isn’t likely to end up under water any time soon, but they cannot duck the reality regardless.  I am looking forward to seeing Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz taking swimming lessons, though - their districts might not have any voters left, so all we have to do is keep the boundaries from being redrawn, and they will simply vanish.  There’s a pleasant thought in a sad sort of way.
